About Us
We're the Almonte family — Elvio, Melissa, and our three kids — Lily, Rose, and Liam — living full-time in an RV while pursuing Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE).
Elvio
Tech guy, infrastructure nerd, and the family's designated IT department. I build and maintain our entire digital setup — from the RV's internet stack to our self-hosted cloud. When I'm not fixing a network issue or automating something, I'm flying drones over campgrounds or teaching the kids about circuits.
Melissa
Crafter, creator, and the heart of this operation. Melissa runs a mobile craft studio from our RV, making everything from custom tumblers to handmade jewelry. She's the reason our RV feels like home, not just a vehicle. She also handles most of the homeschool curriculum — which somehow involves a lot of glitter.
The Kids
Our three kids are growing up thinking it's totally normal to live in a house with wheels. They've visited more states than most adults, and their classroom is whatever national park or historic site we're parked near.
Why We Do This
We organize our life around what we call the Seven Fs: Faith, Family, Finances, Fitness, Friends, Fun, and Future. The RV lifestyle lets us prioritize all seven in a way that a traditional 9-to-5 suburban life never could.
This blog documents the real, unfiltered version of this life — the wins, the breakdowns (literal and emotional), the budget spreadsheets, and the sunsets that make it all worth it.
