Briarcliffe RV Resort Review — Myrtle Beach, SC

The Full Review

We rolled into Briarcliffe expecting a standard beach-area RV park and found something closer to a proper resort. The property is landscaped, the pool area is genuinely inviting, and the location puts you within walking distance of Barefoot Landing, one of Myrtle Beach’s best shopping and dining complexes.

Briarcliffe sits on the north end of Myrtle Beach, which is the quieter, more family-friendly side of town. The beach is a few blocks away via a bike path. You are close enough to the action but far enough to avoid the spring-break chaos that defines the southern strip.

Site & Setup 14/20

Sites are concrete pads with grass surrounds, mostly level and well-maintained. Our pull-through fit the 40-footer comfortably with room for the patio setup. The landscaping between sites provides better privacy than most beach-area parks. Mature trees offer legitimate shade, which matters in the Carolina heat even in October. Hookups were clean and functional. Water pressure was strong.

The park layout is thoughtful, with wide internal roads and clear signage. It is one of the easier parks we have maneuvered our Class A through.

Connectivity 16/20

Connectivity is strong across the board. T-Mobile delivered four bars of 5G consistently. Park Wi-Fi was free and capable enough for streaming. We both worked remotely during our stay with no issues. Cable TV is included at each site with a solid channel lineup. Starlink worked fine but was overkill given the cell coverage. Myrtle Beach is well-served by towers and Briarcliffe benefits from its suburban location.

Offspring & Family 13/15

The pool is the standout. It is large, heated, clean, and surrounded by enough lounge chairs that you never fight for a spot. There is a separate kids’ area. The playground is modern and well-maintained. Organized activities include movie nights, craft sessions, and potluck dinners. Barefoot Landing, within walking distance, has everything from mini golf to arcades to live shows. The beach is accessible by bike or a short drive.

Our kids spent mornings at the beach, afternoons at the pool, and evenings exploring Barefoot Landing. They never once said they were bored.

Unity & Community 8/10

Briarcliffe attracts a good mix of families, retirees, and snowbirds. The vibe in October was relaxed and friendly. Neighbors waved, chatted at the pool, and shared restaurant recommendations. Staff was responsive and professional. The park felt well-managed without being over-policed. Quiet hours were respected. The overall atmosphere was beach-vacation friendly.

Territory & Location 15/15

Location is Briarcliffe’s killer feature. Barefoot Landing is a five-minute walk. The beach is a ten-minute bike ride. Kroger is two miles away. Broadway at the Beach, Ripley’s Aquarium, and the SkyWheel are all within 15 minutes. You could stay here for a week and not repeat a restaurant or activity.

The north end of Myrtle Beach is our preferred area for family travel. It is cleaner, quieter, and more family-oriented than the main strip while still having easy access to everything.

Essentials & Facilities 8/10

Bathhouses are above average. Clean, modern enough, with good hot water and decent shower pressure. Laundry room has newer machines. The park does not have a traditional camp store, but Barefoot Landing within walking distance has everything you could need. The rec hall is nice for rainy days and hosts evening activities.

Dollars & Value 7/10

Briarcliffe is not cheap. We paid about $75 per night in October, and summer rates climb significantly higher. For Myrtle Beach, the pricing is mid-range. There are cheaper options farther from the action, and there are fancier resorts at higher prices. Briarcliffe hits the sweet spot of quality and location. Booking through their website or Coast to Coast membership offers some savings.
