Frog City RV Park
Frog City is the I-10 overnight stop in Cajun Country that makes you want to stay a second night. Free weekend breakfast, fresh-baked cookies at check-in, a saltwater pool, and the... Frog City RV Park earns a M — Made Good Memories — on our SCOUTED scale.
The Full Review
We pulled into Frog City RV Park in Duson, LA with our 40-foot Class A and three kids ready to explore. Here is what we found across every category of our SCOUTED scoring system.
Site & Setup 8/20
The sites at Frog City RV Park are the weakest part of the experience. Pads are uneven — we used all four leveling blocks and the front jacks were maxed out. Some hookups show their age, and we had to jiggle the 50-amp connection to get it to hold.
Privacy is minimal. Sites are packed close together, and ground conditions vary from gravel to dirt to mystery mud after a rain. If you're in a big rig, request a pull-through and be specific about what you need.
Connectivity 16/20
Connectivity at Frog City RV Park is strong. We had 4+ bars of Verizon throughout the park, and our Starlink ran without issues. The campground WiFi actually worked for basic browsing — which puts it ahead of 90% of parks we've visited.
We streamed movies every night without buffering, the kids did their remote schoolwork, and I was able to take video calls from the RV. This is a park where you can legitimately work remotely if you need to.
Offspring & Family 9/15
The kids had a good time, but Frog City RV Park isn't winning any 'best family park' awards. There's a playground and some open space, which was enough for our crew. Lily found things to do, Rose made it work, and Liam just wanted to ride his scooter on the campground roads — which he did, endlessly.
The pool situation is either limited or seasonal, which is a miss for families traveling with kids who consider pool time a constitutional right.
Unity & Community 10/10
The community vibe at Frog City RV Park is warm. Our neighbors waved us in during setup, someone brought over firewood our first night, and the kids made friends before we finished leveling. The clubhouse has regular events — bingo nights, potlucks, holiday gatherings — that make you feel like part of something rather than just parking somewhere.
Territory & Location 12/15
The location is functional. You're close enough to necessities and there are a few worthwhile day trips, but Duson isn't exactly a destination. The park itself is pleasant enough, and the surrounding area has its charms if you know where to look.
We found a few hidden gems nearby that made the stop more than just a transit point. Check the Local Intel section below for our recommendations.
Essentials & Facilities 10/10
Facilities are well-maintained. The bathhouse was clean every time we checked — which, with three kids, was frequently. Hot water was consistent, stalls had hooks and shelves, and the laundry room had enough machines that we never had to wait. These details matter more on a long trip than any brochure feature.
Dollars & Value 8/10
For what you get, the value is strong — especially if you're on a Thousand Trails membership where nightly cost is $0. Even at rack rates, the amenities and location justify the price. We've paid more for far less at other parks.
If you're considering a TT membership, parks like this are exactly why it pays for itself. We calculated our savings this trip alone covered two months of membership dues.
Site Tips
Request a pull-through if you have a big rig. Sites near the clubhouse tend to have better WiFi and cell signal. If you are visiting in summer, ask for a shaded site — it makes a real difference.
Bottom Line: Frog City is the I-10 overnight stop in Cajun Country that makes you want to stay a second night. Free weekend breakfast, fresh-baked cookies at check-in, a saltwater pool, and the... Frog City RV Park earns a M — Made Good Memories — on our SCOUTED scale.
