Peace River is old Florida at its best. Kayaking on the Peace River, fossil hunting with the kids, and a park that feels more like nature than resort. It is a slower pace — which is either exactly ... Encore Peace River RV & Camping Resort earns a M — Made Good Memories — on our SCOUTED scale.

The Full Review

We pulled into Encore Peace River RV & Camping Resort in Wauchula, FL with our 40-foot Class A and three kids ready to explore. Here is what we found across every category of our SCOUTED scoring system.

Site & Setup 14/20

Pad Levelness4/5
Hookup Quality3/5
Ground Condition4/5
Privacy & Shade3/5

Sites at Encore Peace River RV & Camping Resort are adequate but not exceptional. Our pad was mostly level — we only needed one block on the passenger side. Hookups connected fine, though the water pressure was a bit inconsistent during peak hours.

Spacing is tight in some sections. We could hear our neighbors' TV through the windows, and slide-outs nearly touched in a few spots. Some sites have good shade; others are completely exposed. Ask for a shaded site when you check in if it matters to you.

Connectivity 13/20

Cell Signal4/5
WiFi Speed3/5
WiFi Coverage4/5
Cable/Streaming2/5

Cell signal is decent at Encore Peace River RV & Camping Resort — we got 2-3 bars of Verizon in most areas, enough for calls and basic data. WiFi is available but don't expect to stream 4K on it. We used our hotspot for anything bandwidth-heavy.

Some areas of the park have dead zones, especially in the lower sections. If connectivity matters for work, ask about sites near the clubhouse where the signal tends to be stronger.

Offspring & Family 9/15

Kid Activities3/5
Pool/Water3/5
Safety & Space3/5

The kids had a good time, but Encore Peace River RV & Camping Resort isn't winning any 'best family park' awards. There's a playground and some open space, which was enough for our crew. Lily found things to do, Rose made it work, and Liam just wanted to ride his scooter on the campground roads — which he did, endlessly.

The pool situation is either limited or seasonal, which is a miss for families traveling with kids who consider pool time a constitutional right.

Unity & Community 8/10

Social Events4/5
Neighbor Vibe4/5

The community vibe at Encore Peace River RV & Camping Resort is warm. Our neighbors waved us in during setup, someone brought over firewood our first night, and the kids made friends before we finished leveling. The clubhouse has regular events — bingo nights, potlucks, holiday gatherings — that make you feel like part of something rather than just parking somewhere.

Territory & Location 11/15

Location Access4/5
Day Trips3/5
Scenery4/5

The location is functional. You're close enough to necessities and there are a few worthwhile day trips, but Wauchula isn't exactly a destination. The park itself is pleasant enough, and the surrounding area has its charms if you know where to look.

We found a few hidden gems nearby that made the stop more than just a transit point. Check the Local Intel section below for our recommendations.

Essentials & Facilities 7/10

Bathhouse Quality4/5
Laundry3/5

Facilities are functional but nothing special. The bathhouse gets the job done, though 'sparkling' is not the word I'd use. Hot water was hit or miss depending on the time of day, and the laundry machines are older models that take forever. We've seen worse, but we've also seen much better at parks in this price range.

Dollars & Value 8/10

Value for Money4/5
Membership Worth4/5

For what you get, the value is strong — especially if you're on a Thousand Trails membership where nightly cost is $0. Even at rack rates, the amenities and location justify the price. We've paid more for far less at other parks.

If you're considering a TT membership, parks like this are exactly why it pays for itself. We calculated our savings this trip alone covered two months of membership dues.

Site Tips

Request a pull-through if you have a big rig. Sites near the clubhouse tend to have better WiFi and cell signal. If you are visiting in summer, ask for a shaded site — it makes a real difference.

Bottom Line: Peace River is old Florida at its best. Kayaking on the Peace River, fossil hunting with the kids, and a park that feels more like nature than resort. It is a slower pace — which is either exactly ... Encore Peace River RV & Camping Resort earns a M — Made Good Memories — on our SCOUTED scale.
