Town & Country RV Park Review — Roswell, NM

The Full Review

We bounced between Town and Country and Red Barn during our time in Roswell, and the contrast is instructive. Red Barn is the charming bed-and-breakfast. Town and Country is the reliable Holiday Inn. Both serve a purpose. Town and Country wins on infrastructure, connectivity, and amenities. Red Barn wins on personality and bathhouse cleanliness, though Town and Country’s facilities are also excellent.

The park sits on the north side of Roswell with easy access to Main Street and the commercial district. At 119 sites, it is the largest RV park in the area and the only one with a pool and fitness center.

Site & Setup 15/20

Sites are level concrete pull-throughs, generously sized for big rigs. Our 40-footer fit without any fuss. The pads are well-maintained with clear markings. Hookups are in good condition, 50-amp service was clean and stable. Water pressure was strong. Cable TV hookups are at every site, which is a nice touch. Privacy between sites is limited since the park is open and flat, but the spacing is adequate. No shade since this is the desert, but the sites are oriented for good awning deployment.

Connectivity 16/20

Connectivity is Town and Country’s second-best feature. T-Mobile delivered four bars of 4G consistently. Park Wi-Fi is free and actually works. Cable TV with 50-plus channels is included at every site. Starlink was unnecessary. I worked remotely for the full week with video calls and file transfers running smoothly. For digital workers passing through southeast New Mexico, this is a reliable base.

Offspring & Family 8/15

The pool exists but was unheated during our December visit, which made it decorative rather than functional. There is no playground. The game room has a pool table and some seating. For kids, Town and Country is a place to sleep and eat, not a place to play. Our kids spent their activity time at Bottomless Lakes, the UFO Museum, and Red Barn’s owner’s dog. A gym with treadmills and weights is available for adults, which is rare in the RV park world.

Unity & Community 7/10

Town and Country is professional and efficient. The staff handles check-in smoothly, maintenance responds promptly, and the rules are clear. But it lacks the warmth of a smaller operation. Neighbors were friendly but interactions were brief. The park attracts a mix of oilfield workers (southeast New Mexico has significant oil activity), snowbirds, and travelers. The vibe is functional rather than communal.

Territory & Location 10/15

Same Roswell location as Red Barn, with slightly better access to the commercial district. Walmart and Albertsons are both within 2 miles. The UFO Museum, downtown shops, and restaurants are about 3 miles south. The desert scenery around Roswell is flat and stark but has its own austere beauty, especially at sunrise and sunset. Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge is about 15 minutes for the crane migration.

Essentials & Facilities 10/10

The facilities are excellent. The bathhouse is clean, modern, and well-lit. The laundry room has newer machines and is well-maintained. The gym is a genuine bonus, small but functional with cardio equipment and free weights. The office has a small selection of supplies. Everything works, everything is clean. Town and Country runs a tight ship.

Dollars & Value 9/10

Rates were about $50 per night for a full hookup pull-through, slightly higher than Red Barn. The added amenities, pool, gym, cable TV, and better connectivity, justify the premium. Good Sam members get a discount. For a week-long stay, the value is solid. Booking is easy through their website or Good Sam’s platform.
