Close to Disney but that is about all Lake Magic has going for it. Fire ants, cell dead zones, and zero shade earn it a P — Passed the Time.

The Full Review

We pulled into Encore Lake Magic in Clermont, FL with our 40-foot Class A and three kids ready to explore. Here is what we found across every category of our SCOUTED scoring system.

Site & Setup 9/20

Pad Levelness3/5
Hookup Quality2/5
Ground Condition3/5
Privacy & Shade1/5

The sites at Encore Lake Magic are the weakest part of the experience. Pads are uneven — we used all four leveling blocks and the front jacks were maxed out. Some hookups show their age, and we had to jiggle the 50-amp connection to get it to hold.

Privacy is minimal. Sites are packed close together, and ground conditions vary from gravel to dirt to mystery mud after a rain. If you're in a big rig, request a pull-through and be specific about what you need.

Connectivity 10/20

Cell Signal3/5
WiFi Speed2/5
WiFi Coverage3/5
Cable/Streaming2/5

Connectivity is rough at Encore Lake Magic. Verizon barely registered — we needed our WeBoost just to send a text. The campground WiFi exists in theory but barely functions for email. Streaming? Forget it.

If you need to work or stay connected, plan accordingly. Download movies before you arrive, let people know you'll be off-grid, and consider it a digital detox opportunity. Starlink users with clear sky should be fine.

Offspring & Family 8/15

Kid Activities3/5
Pool/Water2/5
Safety & Space3/5

The kids had a good time, but Encore Lake Magic isn't winning any 'best family park' awards. There's a playground and some open space, which was enough for our crew. Lily found things to do, Rose made it work, and Liam just wanted to ride his scooter on the campground roads — which he did, endlessly.

The pool situation is either limited or seasonal, which is a miss for families traveling with kids who consider pool time a constitutional right.

Unity & Community 7/10

Social Events4/5
Neighbor Vibe3/5

The park is quiet, which can be either a pro or a con depending on what you're looking for. We didn't see many organized activities during our stay, and the vibe was more 'everyone keeps to themselves' than community. Our neighbors were friendly when we crossed paths, but this isn't the park where you're making lifelong friends at the fire pit.

Territory & Location 12/15

Location Access4/5
Day Trips4/5
Scenery4/5

The location is functional. You're close enough to necessities and there are a few worthwhile day trips, but Clermont isn't exactly a destination. The park itself is pleasant enough, and the surrounding area has its charms if you know where to look.

We found a few hidden gems nearby that made the stop more than just a transit point. Check the Local Intel section below for our recommendations.

Essentials & Facilities 7/10

Bathhouse Quality4/5
Laundry3/5

Facilities are functional but nothing special. The bathhouse gets the job done, though 'sparkling' is not the word I'd use. Hot water was hit or miss depending on the time of day, and the laundry machines are older models that take forever. We've seen worse, but we've also seen much better at parks in this price range.

Dollars & Value 7/10

Value for Money4/5
Membership Worth3/5

Value is where Encore Lake Magic loses a few points. At rack rates, you're paying premium prices for mid-range amenities. On a TT membership it's fine — $0 a night makes everything look better. But if you're paying cash, compare carefully with other options in the area.

Site Tips

Request a pull-through if you have a big rig. Sites near the clubhouse tend to have better WiFi and cell signal. If you are visiting in summer, ask for a shaded site — it makes a real difference.

Bottom Line: Close to Disney but that is about all Lake Magic has going for it. Fire ants, cell dead zones, and zero shade earn it a P — Passed the Time.
